Brandon Potts, Philip Morton and I hopped the train from our home base of Wollongong to the blue mountains for a little
hiking and camping, but we headed into the adventure sooner than we expected. we stayed in sydney till 12pm and we did
not get into the blue mountains till 2am......an of course we did not think of making a reservation at the YHA hostel so we
were locked out. we ended up going to the police station and I was thinking how good a warm jail cell would feel right
about now but the officer in charge drove us to a do not camp park and told us to camp there:) the next morning we hiked to
the 3 sisters and on the steepest railway in the world! from there we hiked a couple of more hours to castle rock ruins
where we set up camp. we attempted a fire with the damp wood but with no luck. we finally went to bed at 5pm (it was
dark) and the 3 of us fit in a 2 man tent. now by no means are we tiny men so with Potts in the middle philip and I
were smashed against the sides all night while Potts enjoyed a pleasant slumber. the next morning we took a ride on
the steepest railway and took the train back to wollongong.
